INJURY ASSESSMENT

A sports injury therapy assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand your injury, identify its underlying causes, and develop an effective recovery plan. This assessment involves a detailed consultation, physical examination, and functional movement analysis to determine the extent of the injury and any contributing factors, such as muscle imbalances, poor biomechanics, or overuse.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Initial Discussion: We’ll start with a conversation about your symptoms, how the injury occurred, and your medical and activity history.

  • Postural & Movement Analysis: Observing your posture, movement, and gait to identify any imbalances.

  • Hands-On Examination: Using palpation to assess tenderness, swelling, or muscle tension in the affected area.

  • Functional Testing: Assessing your range of motion, strength, and joint stability, along with specific clinical tests to diagnose the injury.

  • Personalised Treatment Plan: A tailored recovery strategy that may include:

    • Kinesiology taping (K-taping)

    • Therapeutic ultrasound

    • Sports massage

    • Exercise prescriptions

    • Other evidence-based recovery methods
